A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011 for Correctional Officer Jayme Biendl. Biendl, 34, was found unconscious in the chapel at the Monroe Correctional Complex in Monroe WA on the evening of Jan. 29, 2011. She could not be revived.
The Washington State Department of Corrections announced the service will take place at 1 pm at the Comcast Arena in Everett WA. Thousands of law enforcement officers, fire and EMS personnel are expected to attend along with members of the public.
Memorial funds have been set up for both Biendl’s family and to pay for the memorial service. Those wishing to contribute to the family can make a donation at any Key Bank under the name, “Jayme Biendl Memorial Fund.” Those who want to help defray the cost of the service can make a contribution to “In Memory of Jayme Biendl” at any branch of the Union Bank. Any funds received over and above the cost of the service will be given to Biendl’s family.
